Touring rig for the Pleasant Revolution Pacific Northwest Tour 2016. Kona Ute carrying a modified JBL 12" loudspeaker, steinberger bass, berimbau, a mess of audio cables, and then all my regular bike camping gear.
Side by side with Nate Bauld's Spicy Curry towing an insane amount of gear, including the other JBL main speaker. Since he was the only cyclist on tour with electric assist, we loaded him up (or down).
When our tour rolled through Petaluma, we stopped for lunch with Yuba Bike staff. Their design engineer and I had a fun time swapping my gear between the Kona Ute and their Mundo v5 while taking turns comparing the rides loaded and unloaded. 10/10 would tour with a Mundo over the Ute for kickstand stability alone.
Probably the most I've ever carried at once to a gig - a pair of congas plus hardware, the Roland JC-77 amp, bag of gig essentials, and my guitar on my back. This was for Felabration at The New Parish in Oakland with the Lagos Roots Afrobeat Ensemble.
First Pacific Surfliner (Amtrak) assisted gig. This was the trial run, and I no longer think it is a good idea to strap a speaker cab over the front wheel. Instead it now rides in a rear pannier, and bag of gig essentials (cables, power strip, snacks, field recorder, jacket etc) rides strapped to the front rack. I bicycled up the coast to the Good Vibes gig at The Kraken, then after 3 sets over 4 hours, took the train home back south.
The Phil Jones rig + Steinberger staged at home.
The fender mustang with Phil Jones rig in the wild.
Fender mustang and PJB rig stashed on the bike and ready for an Amtrak assist back home.
